About Bubblews

This is a new writing site that is gaining a little interest. I had some writers ask me if I have heard of the site. I wasn’t familiar with it and wanted to discover what I could. There isn’t a lot of info about it online, but there is a little buzz to share.

Bubblews is free of charge to join. This is a writing community where bubbles (posts) are created to earn money online. Writers are encouraged to create posts that can earn money for every view, comment, like or dislike and social media share a reader makes.

A personal profile holds bio info along with posts created under your member name. With 15 different article categories a variety of subjects to write about are available.

Pros

The page layout is simple and easy to navigate. There are not a lot of pros to share about the site since it doesn’t have a long online history. What some see as a pro may be a con to others.

One of the most glaring is the fact posts are simple and short. The possibility there are not a lot of rejections by editors is apparent.

The community of writers working on posts for the site will have a revenue share of 50/50 for advertising. After reviewing what the site has to offer, most of the posts are less than 300 words. These are more like expanded tweets or flash fiction in their structure. Each post has a like and dislike button, total views are displayed along with comments and social media buttons. Comments can also be voted up or down. Shorter posts mean less writing.

A post or comment can be flagged as inappropriate. There is not a lot of definition on what this means. However, I can guess they are investigated and removed when necessary.

Writing categories include art, beauty, business, crime, cool, fashion, food, entertainment and many others. Categories like crime are highly unusual and will attract some writers with an interest in these articles that fall outside of the norm for these kinds of sites.

One of the first things to catch your eye is the fact that Bubblews’ website indicates the patent is pending for the writing community. They have been online less than 2 months and the LinkedIn profile shows they have less than 10 employees. A small privately held company offering the same services as other websites may have some stiff competition. Though, not dealing with thousands of members could mean a faster response time for any questions or issues that occur.

Newer sites do not have the “clean up” of older articles a lot of older sites have ahead of them for getting rid of the bad content that bring a websites page rank down. Older sites are still “cleaning up” keyword stuffing and other bad article habits.

Cons

Every page view doesn’t earn the same. A repeat visitor to the same post is only counted once. However, the same visitor to three different posts will count as three different page views.

Even though they advertise you get paid for comments, social networking, page views and more you are really only getting paid for a reader viewing your work. What the reader does after arriving at the post will vary, but it does not dictate more pay on top of the base.

Ad revenue varies based on what Bubblews is earning. Even though they share ad revenue 50/50, half of nothing is nothing. In addition, most similar sites have higher ad sharing revenue.

A redemption form must be completed for cash payment. Points are earned which can be turned into cash or items. What these items are defined as isn’t mentioned on the redemption page for Bubblews. There is not a lot of details on points and how you earn them.

There is a form to complete when you want a check sent out for your money. If there is a minimum amount before issue isn’t clearly stated.

The print for comments and posts is small and certainly nothing fancy. They didn’t go for the bells and whistles when it comes to displaying the sites content.

Shorter articles are not always a good thing. This could hurt the page rank of the site over time. Quality informative info is what benefits writers that earn a living online and belonging to a site with high standards for these is what to look for in the long run of having terrific passive income.

The server connected to the site has had several instances over the last week where it was completely down. This could be due to the amount of traffic received at any one time, causing an overload or other issues with starting a new web community. Many writers admitted they received a response the site doesn’t exist after trying to sign in and being down is a habit and not an exception. This is a definite con.

Referrals

I assume there is a referral option for earning since I have seen several articles with a referral link attached. One Bubblews post shared for every friend referred you will earn 21 cents. There is a top referrer contest which could increase this amount to a one-time payment of $3, but for most this isn’t enough to make it worth your while. Comparable sites give a portion of the referral ad sharing which is wonderful.

In conclusion

There is a LinkedIn profile that shares they have only been online six weeks. They also have a presence on Facebook and Twitter. Without an enormous amount of information around the web on new sites like these, it is difficult to find great reviews from members that have tried them out. More time will tell if the site produces a good revenue stream for writers or not.
Getting in on the ground with a new site does have benefits. This is especially true if it takes off like Pinterest or Facebook. Though, there are lots of others that do not. You simply dont hear about them. What category this one falls in remains to be seen.
I have not joined the community and it doesn’t appeal to me at this time. Anyone that has can certainly share their experiences they have had so far with the rest of us.

Flash Fiction Story Prompts for Writers

Flash fiction is a very popular genre for freelance writers in the industry today. Flash fiction stories are generally built with as little as a couple of hundred words or even less. When you compare this type of writing side by side with other content it is amazing that stories are created with so little content. At times a writer will get stuck without an idea. There are some writing prompts for flash fiction to make the accomplishment of your work concepts a little easier.

Developing a great concept for a piece of flash fiction is sometimes challenging with so little space to write an entire story. These are several flash fiction prompts which will make it seem less daunting. Songs

Songs help with writing ideas. How about thinking of a favorite tune or song and creating a story around it. You can use the entire song or simply a catchy lyric or phrase or two.

Music is a wonderful place to find innovative story lines to help make the writing job a little easier. Build storylines with what you hear and transport lyrics in written form to a reader.

What do you see in the world?

What do you see around you in the world? Look out the window or glance through pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words and you only need a couple hundred of them to fashion a story of flash fiction with this prompt. Find something to write about based on what you see.

A beautiful sunrise or sunset or a squirrel scurrying up a tree through leaves in the fall are all great places to start your writing. Visually seeing what it in the world provides thousands of prompts for flashfiction stories.

Television and movies have always been tied to the written word. Most Hollywood content is based on books written by writers that another writer builds a screenplay on. Both of these have very high visual cues to deliver a story with.

Imagine what the eye takes in within a simple 24 hour period and what you can do with that information when making it work for your writing.

What if possibilities

Working with the question of “What if” has unlimited possibilities? The question holds so much information that a simple 200 word flash fiction work will not hold it all. It certainly will create hundreds or thousands of philosophies, viewpoints, mindsets and opinions about matters which can be conveyed in writing work.

Asking the question and what your answer will be is a prompt to use for an unlimited supply of thoughts and designs for flash fiction. Your imagination is the only limitation.

Random thoughts and words

Writing down random words and thoughts will also get the focus on things of interest. Surprisingly developing an unlimited supply of words and thoughts not related to much of anything will turn into something. A one or two word phrase will influence a story which can take you in any direction.

Opposite viewpoints

Do you have an old story or idea that you wrote about which is more than a couple of hundred words? Take the opposite point of view and make a short story for flash fiction. Creating an opposite mindset is a thing of ease working with something you have already investigated and know a little about.

Computers will do it for you

With technology at your fingertips, work with one for building great flash fiction story prompts. There are several story idea generators found online which will get the work done for you.

These terrific pieces of technology aren’t cheating because you have to write content with your own elbow grease. Though, they will get you over the hump of coming up with the basis for an article when you need it most.

In conclusion

These are several ways to get prompts for flash fiction when you need it. Concepts and ideas when you need them are wonderful when they come. However, when they refuse to come to you find ways to make it happen. Try and work with these prompts when and if you need them to enhance your writing abilities.
