Advantages and Disadvantages of Writing for Triond

Passive writing is important to a lot of freelance writers because this is how they earn a consistent writing income outside of clients that purchase writing services. Having a great writing site to work with for published articles around the web can make the difference between a terrific passive income that consistently earns and one that doesn’t.

Triond is a writing platform where numerous writers earn a dependable ad sharing revenue for passive writing income. Writers working with Triond for constant passive writing earnings have come to identify a lot of advantages and disadvantages of writing for Triond. This article outlines benefits and drawbacks of Triond for any writer considering the program for making money online with passive writing.

Triond advantages

Easy article publication and navigation around the site

The writing site has an easy interface allowing a quick and fast way to load and publish online articles. Video and images are added without a lot of fuss and connecting with social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook is simple.

The site is exceptionally easy to get around. Feeds and friends are simple to locate and socialize with. Creating a profile page and sharing info is a non-issue. Changes are quickly made to profiles and a variety of backgrounds, colors and other creative content is provided.

Poetry is accepted as a writing category

Poets found a home with Triond which is an exception. A lot of sites which share ad revenue with writers don’t accept poetry as a category of writing.

Images are provided automatically for published content

Triond delivers a notebook of images to link with each published piece of subject matter as part of the publication process. Based on keywords and phrases Triond finds pictures for a writer which make acquiring relevant pics to match content a non-issue. This is an excellent way to get pertinent images easy and saves writers precious time without the need to hunt for images as well as saving space on your pc to save them. This is one of the biggest Triond advantages writers can see.

Extras for Triond members

Members can create their own widgets to display content around the web and they pay monthly without a minimum payout requirement for all members. There is a referral incentive and writers earn a portion of each referral's ad revenue. The writing community is engaged in your articles with comments and the ability to vote a “like” to an article if they choose.

More than one site for publishing articles

One of the biggest advantages is Triond is a combination of a multitude of different sites combined into the umbrella of Triond. Articles are published to various sites related to the content of an article. This means that recipes are published to a recipe site, television and movie reviews have their own site and business related articles have their own.

Poetry writers can submit to Triond

Poetry writers found Triond a refuge. A number of similar sites around the web refuse to publish poetry. Therefore, poetry is a large segment of the writing community. Poets love Triond for seeing their content online. Writing poetry for money is a huge Triond advantage.

Disadvantages of Triond

No forum for the community

Triond did have a forum, but no moderator. This is never a good thing. A lot of things were out of hand and not professional which is bad for business.

Questions and concerns can be submitted to Triond editors, but there is a tool that has been installed to try and answer your question before getting it to the editors. The tool is misleading and difficult to use since most of the “answers” don’t fit writer’s questions. Writers that wanted an actual reply y from an editor could expect to wait six or seven months.

Tracking analytics is difficult

Tracking the analytics for Triond articles is difficult to say the least when you have different sites for content. Imagine having fifty pieces of content at over10 sites entails setting up a tracking mechanism for each articles instead of for one site.

Variations in ad earnings
Since Triond is a culmination of writing sites, ad revenue is not earned at a flat rate. Depending on which site publishes a writer’s work does affect the amount of ad revenue payment. Knowing which ads are earning at what rate is more than daunting to track and configure

Google’s changes to algorithms down rated Triond

Triond was one of the largest writing sites that took a big hit to page rank with Google’s new algorithm. The first algorithm Google rolled out decreased freelance writer income significantly for a number of reasons.

One of the largest reasons changes to Google modified Triond was because they don’t have editors manually review articles before publication. There is a minimal electronic version of editing, but it is fairly rare for articles to be rejected for quality or content.

Things such as keyword stuffing or poor seo are not tracked. Article linking is another grouping that can also shape page rank and Google’s analysis.

Poetry is not like regular articles for most writing sites

Triond was a writing site that accepted poetry which is an area that is difficult to earn passive writing income. Poetry doesn’t have great keywords or phrases and non-existent search engine optimization for most articles published on Triond. This puts poetry in a unique category apart from regular article content and subject matter.
Writers can make money online with poetry, but income is different from creating regular article subject matter and content.

In conclusion

These are advantages and disadvantages that writers should be aware of as a member of Triond. Review these to determine if the writing platform Triond can be beneficial for what a writer wants to accomplish with passive writing income and a freelance writing career.

Using Staff Agencies for Freelance Writer Work

As work from home business persons have you considered using a Staffing agency as a job resource? Staffing agencies are a go between guy between workers and employers. These agencies became extremely popular almost 20 years ago and have had an increase in clients in recent years with the current economy and increasing work from home industry growth. Using staffing agencies for freelance writer work may be an alternative option that could work out well.

Why employers use staffing agencies

Staffing agencies have seen a rise in clients for several reasons. The increase in business has come from both sides of the isle, the employers and employees that use their services. A lot of companies have discovered that instead of hiring full time employment with benefits, automatic salary increases and dealing with the ever so popular unions they like the idea of temp staff to fill their needs. Temporary staff generally bypasses all of these.

Why employees use staff agencies

Originally a lot of employees that sought work from staff agencies did so with ideas such as working a temp job for a while to earn extra money when needed. Imagine earning simply for the vacation this year or to make more Christmas cheer with a little more money in the bank. Employees like the idea of filling in when needed and leaving when something better or something else came along. It worked out as a win/win for everyone involved.

Are they all temporary work?

Depending in the work the company has some staff jobs are temporary to full time. There are even staffing agency jobs that last anywhere from two weeks to two years listed under temporary.

The advent of maternity leave, long term disability and FMLA (family medical leave) has really extended staff agency jobs for employee and continued to make them bountiful. With this in mind what can a staff agency do for you?

What are the advantages for me?

As freelancer writers a number of us are used to getting jobs with clients that are temporary. These jobs can last from a couple of pieces of content to a book and more. Jobs with real companies versus working with single entrepreneurs do provide some advantages.

Most staffing jobs through agencies will provide some perks for freelance writers. For the longer assignments there is the possibility of sick leave, vacation time or even benefits which are all extremely appealing when working as a freelancer from home.

Signing up with a staffing agency can make your job writing search a whole lot easier because in place of one on one networking with clients, a staff agency can give a freelancer the connection to a wide variety of clients at the same time. The legwork is done by the agency leaving more prescious time for writing.

The good agencies that work with staffing needs will have leads that are making a connection with your writer particular wants and desires. They take the time to match you with a good fit. This increases the chances of making a success of the interaction and working duties and tasks you enjoy. Additionally, by taking the time to attach freelancers to jobs they fit well in, a client is also satisfied which can lead to more work.
disadvantages of staffing agencies

Disadvantages of staff agencies exist. Money is the culprit. Unfortunately, this merry matchmaker for work at home jobs or freelancer work will get a cut of the money for their fee. This can vary from agency to agency and usually comes from the client.
Finding the right fit for what you desire is always a hard mountain to climb. Though, the more clients available the better your chances.

In conclusion

Research the staff agencies in your market and find the details surrounding freelancer work as well as work from home job resources. As a freelance writer always be on the lookout for the next great door of writing opportunity to open. There are some agencies that have recruiting practices surrounding niche markets while others have general recruiting habits.

Most freelancers that have discovered clients using staff agencies have found successful employment and the task was worthwhile. Have a positive approach to working with these agencies that staff for a variety of clients and see what it does for you.

Using Passive Voice or Active Voice for Freelance Writing

As a writer improving your skills is a necessary requirement to a successful career. One course of enhancement is getting as much knowledge as possible about writing. A lot of the knowledge writers obtain over the course of their career is not very exciting. Learning how to use homonyms correctly or when to use a colon versus a semi colon are all great lessons for any writer to learn. One of the important knowledge lessons is using passive voice or active voice for freelance writing.

Primary difference between passive voice writing and active voice writing

A number of writers have the illusion that using passive voice when writing is bad grammar. This is certainly not the case. Passive voice for a number of writers feels comfortable and good. Therefore, they write sentence structure in passive voice. The manner and arrangement of a sentence using passive voice is certainly a variation from using active voice. The issue with which voice to use comes when both voices are used to assemble one piece of content.

Active subjects will do an action in sentences.  While passive voices make a who or what receive an action. This is one definition of active and passive writing. Other examples are also listed here for better understanding.

A writer that uses a passive tone will produce a sentence where the subject of a sentence is on the receiving end of the action.

While in the hospital, the patient was the recipient of flowers from her mother.

A writer that choose to write the same sentence using active tone of voice will produce a sentence where the subject will act or carry out the action in a sentence. This means the same sentence will produce a different look and feel for readers.

Her mother sent her flowers while she was in the hospital.

The difference in these sentences is giving the action to the subject (active) or the action is received from the subject (passive).

Writers that use a passive voice when writing sentences will use find the phrase “by the” used and a variation of the verb is formed with words such as; been, was, am, are and is. This is the usual way passive voice sentences are structured, but there are also exceptions to the norm and all passive sentences are not organized this way.

Passive voice sentence can also be identified in several other ways

1.       A passive voice is characteristically less direct than an active voice counterpart. Writers will generally write articles and speak in the same manner. This means that passive voice and active voice are sometimes found in the same article.

Passive voice sentence: A large package was mailed by a young lady.

Active voice sentence: The young lady mailed a large package.

2.       Passive voice doesn’t have concision where active voice is to the point. A number of writers don’t enjoy writing brief and concise sentences. The tone of the article isn’t what they hope to see.

Passive voice: Circus clowns are loved by kids

Active voice: kids love circus clowns

3.       Passive voiced sentences are misleading and often confusing. While an active voiced sentence is clear and concise.

Passive voice: a number of different animals lived at the zoo way before construction began

Active voice: even with the zoo under construction a number of different animals live there

4.       A clear indication that passive voice is being used can be seen in sentences where the who or what doing the action is left out of sentence. Active voice demonstrates clearly who or what is doing the action in a sentence.

Passive voice: The briefcase was bought on Tuesday.

Active voice: Brad bought a briefcase on Tuesday.

How a writer decides which voice to use when writing subject matter or material

General audiences can become confused when passive voice is used. Sentence structure is complicated and a writer’s meaning can be lost with passive voice sentence construction. There is a chance that a writers meaning can be lost when passive sentences are used. On the other hand, active voice sentences make the tone of an article seem abrupt and may not work for a lot of article topics.

Active voice sentences will work better overall for article writing. This type of voice makes ideas easier to convey and understand. For writers that feel an article needs a softer side or feel add a little passive voice here and there.
Blogging is slightly different for writing styles, tones and voices. Since most blogging is generally constructed in a conversational tone, mixing active and passive is not much of a concern. Blog posts are characteristically no specific type of tone or style because they hold more true to form of writing how an author speaks.

Best Article Introduction Summaries for Internet Articles

I am a member of more than several different online writing sites where my work is published. When a number of my articles are published they have to be accompanied by introductions or summaries. These are generally mini works of content that are approximately 150-200 words that essentially tell a reader what is included in the online article posted to the writing article site.

A reader should be able to determine from the short intro or summary whether or not they want to read the content, what it contains and if it matches the query used for the search engine info. This is an article posted through Hub pages that can help any freelance writer create better article introduction summaries for every article posted around the web.

Best Topics for Freelance Writers

Writers are always searching for topics to write about. This is especially true when ideas are needed for making more money with passive writing income around the web. Finding the right topic to base an article or series of articles on can be a piece of work within itself. With this in mind it is nice to know the best topics for freelance writer articles.

When deciding what to write about keep some important information in mind. There are some topics that a writer is always safe writing about, while others should be avoided at all costs for a number of reasons.

Children related articles

Children related topics are always a great place to put work in. Parents search for additional information about kids online all of the time. They are always hunting for pertinent content related to something about a child. Whether they are looking for ways to teach a two year old to read or if high school students need more sleep, parents want more info about their children. Providing more child related articles to parents seeking relevant writing content is one of the best topics for freelance writer articles.

New parents are some of the worst culprits when it comes to looking around the web to find matters connected to a child. They will seek out substance that touches on pregnancy as well as text connected to newborns. The questions and issues they bring to the table could keep a writer busy for months and years to come. Writing for children subjects is one of the best topics around for writer themes and article ideas.

Travel

Travel writers are one of the most sought after freelance writers on the web today. Whenever someone is traveling they want more info about it. This includes traveling in general such as what form of transportation to use to get to places they are going and everything else around and in between.

Formerly, before the wide use of the web for travel related topics, word of mouth was used more than anything. Finding out what museums where excellent for site seeing and nearly everything else vacation industry associated was done via speaking with a traveler that had actually been to a place.

Personal experience will come from one viewpoint with a lot of the info delivered when speaking with a fellow traveler. This can make decision making difficult. Are common interests shared with both travelers? If not, a missed opportunity to enjoy a site or planned entertainment could take place. What if a fellow traveler will only share the bad part of a tourism experience? Finding pertinent and related info to travel online is wonderful. Travel writing is a missed resource of great passive income for a number of great writers.

Currently with the amount of online articles surrounding everything travel any 21st century traveler can use the internet for related info on anyplace. One of the nicest things about a lot of the content on the web about travel is that it is not slanted one way or another. A reader can make informed decisions about a vacation or tourism encounter. Numerous travel writing authors produce articles that are both informative and wonderful resources for any area on the map. This is what makes travel one of best topics for freelance writer articles.

Technical writing

Technical writing and how to articles are also popular and safe subject matter for a variety of readers. Readers will search for directions they have lost to an item of merchandise or even seek out how to do something they have done before, but may need a refresher course to complete again. Technical writers are fashioning lots of wonderful writing work for online audiences. There are a number of keywords and phrases that can be used a multitude of different ways to make technical writing an enormous field of ideas, concepts and themes.

Technical writing stretches across a broad area of themes and topics. Generally a writer will need to do research to complete a lot of articles. The extra effort can certainly be worth it if the subject is popular and keywords will receive a lot of hits. Imagine that one article on the right subject could go viral and earn a writer excellent income, both real and passive, for a number of years based on only a couple of hours of research invested. Technical writing is one of the best topics for freelance articles.

Subjects to always stay away from

Anything questionable should always be avoided. Stay away from topics such as gambling or adult themes. This does not mean a political theme or religious article should never be written. Remember a “G” rated article always works. Form subjects that are argumentative into articles that inform and educate. Hard questions and matters are addressed and sought after by online readers as much as the next item of interest. By all means, write about these things while keeping matters away from definite no-no’s that you wouldn’t want your grandmother to see.

There are a number of writers that have clients that only request these particular hard to discuss or off limit matters. If a writer doesn’t have any reservations working with them, please do so. However, remember that any future clients that Google a byline will come across this work. If you feel uncomfortable with this concept, stay away from these client requests.

In order to test whether a topic should be passed up or avoided, keep in mind if you have to stop and wonder if a topic should be avoided, steer clear of it. Not only will some content of questionable matter hurt credibility or the character of a writer, it is nearly always displayed with ads that a writer wants to keep away from as well. For instance, adult content for an article will have ads related to adult content. Since there is little if no control over countless ads that are displayed with a piece of online content, avoid the article or subject matter altogether to stay safe. Additionally, many writing platforms have guidelines that indicate these subjects are not deemed acceptable for their site.

Avoid duplicate article content

Duplicate content should not be written for the web. This was formerly okay, but with changes made to the giant Google search engine algorithm duplicate content will hurt a writer. Make all content unique and original to find great topics for freelance writers.

Duplicate content is okay for a lot of writing platforms. Generally these are writing sites that tolerate an article displayed on a site first and another site secondary or the reverse. However, writers that choose to do so will find a ding from search engines. This is reflected in losing page rank and search engine optimization opportunities. There are times when a search engine cannot determine which article was posted first which means the juice from a quality article is lost on both the original and the duplicate article.

Taking a theme, idea or subject matter and writing several different original articles on the same premise is okay. This is a much better idea all around. There are times when wonderful keywords and article marketing can make all of the articles work wonderfully in a writers favor. Additionally, great back linking opportunities can be had by writing around a given idea or innovation.

In conclusion

There are a number of article topics that should be avoided at all costs. These are ideas or themes that many people find questionable, worrisome or upsetting. Make certain that all articles are created with a “G”rating in mind. This means that anyone from any background at any time can enjoy a piece of work. This in mind helps a writer to make a safe decision about the best topics for freelance writer articles.

Write articles or blog posts based on the best content possible to reap the rewards of great page rank, more readers and increased online income as a freelance writer. This is an outline of the best topics freelance articles should be based on. Be clear about what subject matter writers should and should not write about to get the most out of a writing career.

great video from YouTube for working out keywords and phrases. this tool works best for bloggers and webmasters writing article content

Creating Quality Content for Writing Challenges

Have you ever participated in a writing challenge? A number of writing sites have writing challenges that are generally 30 articles in 30 days or something similar. For a freelance writer these are a terrific way to double or even triple freelance writing passive income. Find out ways to create quality content and overcome any hurdles that are encountered to meet the specified content in the time period given.

Keep fresh and current

Another unintended outcome for a lot of older writers that become stationary is finding out what is going on in their industry. Knowing what is going on keeps writing fresh and current. Lots of times writers become complacent when writing and can fall out of the loop.

A comfort level is established at some point with a lot of veteran writers. It is always a good thing to take a peek at what is going on in the writing world around us. Writing that is fresh and current is a great resource to have to make certain an investment is made in a writing future.

Don’t miss the next great job

Take a look at writing boards from time to time in order to discover newcomers with writing websites and current news happenings with employment opportunities. There may be a wonderful next job right around the corner that was missed because we failed to take a peek.

Always look for more money

Everyone can always make more money. Most writers are searching for new ways to make more in the writing industry. Unless there happens to be a client with unlimited streams of income that will continually increase and unlimited work, always be on the lookout for more. Checking job writing boards, want ads and other resources for employment is one way to be sure this happens. Take a positive approach when searching for online writing jobs and avoid contentment while something great passes by.

Keep ahead of the competition

Glance at the competition from time to time. This is not always a bad thing. At times a writer can become engrossed in their work.  When this happens at times we can miss out on the competition or underestimate them.  A number of employers are working with more than one writer or may be on the lookout for a better deal with another writer. When this occurs rivals could conceivably take another writer’s bread and butter. Be sure to know the competition to stay ahead of the competition.

In conclusion

These are several things that are benefits to looking for writing jobs online that most writers don’t take advantage of or aren’t aware of. Knowledge is power in every industry and taking a positive approach to a writing career keeps it fresh and earning a great income.

Tools for Getting Online Writing Jobs

Freelance writing jobs aren’t simply handed to writers. For the most part writers have to apply for jobs and work hard at getting them. Even a great article meticulously edited for grammar, with an excellent title and great content can be rejected after submission. Though, using the right tools for getting online writing jobs will make application and getting the job a whole lot easier.

Match up with the correct site for a writer’s interest

The correct writing site can make a world of difference in being accepted. This means that a writer matches their interests with the website they want to work for. Verify the site and the writer will work well together to increase the chance of being accepted.

Generally, a writer that connects with a writing websitewill stay focused and absorbed in the content and job assignments which always makes employment more enjoyable and less likely to be uninspiring. Writers that bore easily with the job at hand are more likely to turn in shoddy work or miss deadlines. Everyone wants a gratifying job, even writers.

Verify the writing sample before sending

Edit writing samples thoroughly before sending them in.  This noteworthy tool can go hand and hand with getting the correct site for a writer’s interest. Is the writing sample appropriate to the position? Does the writing sample look and feel like some of the best work possible? Be sure and send in writing that looks as well as feels great. If a sample feels out of place or not quite what it should be, wait and make corrections later. Rewrite the information or pick a different subject matter.

Expertise in a particular field may not always be enough if a horrible writing sample is submitted. Generally, a wonderful example of writing and knowledge in a particular field will increase the chances of filling an open writing position.

Social media can be an added bonus

Adding social media to a profile is a bonus that a number of writers have discovered is a plus for an application. This will display a motivation in an expansion of writing influences, impacts and a vision for more. Consider Pinterest, Google Plus and Redgage in addition to more traditional Twitter and Facebook. Adding the newest kids on the block shows an employer a writer is aware of new online impacts in this specific venue.

Follow up with sites

If a site has advised a reply will be sent in 2 days, make certain a response is received timely. This means don’t wait 2 weeks and follow up. There may be times when applications are overlooked or not received. No follow up by a writer means they can feel rejected in error and never learn the application was not received. A writer that shows an attention to detail will follow up if a 2 day turns around turns to 4 days.

Following up on a writing application should be done via email in a professional manner. Make certain to contact the correct person or area with the employer where an application was made.

In conclusion

Applying for an online writing job doesn’t necessarily guarantee a writer will be accepted by an online writing site. Using these tools make the chance of getting an application accepted with the next writing site increase tenfold. A writer with interests aligned with a site that sends in a sample with great grammar and editing has a head start. Connecting social media to profiles and making certain a follow up is made will also add credibility for a writer with employers. Work with the right tools for the next writing job and see what really makes the cut when it comes to writing for a living.
